somewhere over the rainbow

Whenever I'm home, my little sister Olivia has started calling me Jocilyn on accident...as you can imagine, I'm not the least bit offended. Though I can't recall looking this good in my bridals. We had plans to shoot at these two's reception center, but they fell through. And while I'm sure those would've been great, you can't beat Mother Nature's reception offerings, rainbow and all. We took these up in the hills above Joc's house. And I love, love them. Don't get me wrong, I'm stil a huge fan of my grungy walls...but everytime I shoot in the mountains I end up with another all time favorite. Except I can't decide which of these takes the cake. What's your vote?

I didn't see this shot yesterday when I posted the other rainbow picture, but I think this one beats it and will most definitely be going on my new walls...

Jordan said she's looking for a little leprechaun man...

And now for their video, which includes their engagement shots plus more from the bridal/groomal session above...

scenes from yesterday

There's something about Utah in the spring I simply can't get enough of. Absolutely breathtaking. I thought to add textures to these, but decided, who am I to mess with natural beauty?

Chicago

I was totally spoiled this weekend...working. Jordan got to come with me and so we flew into Chicago a day early to give us some play time. Our hotel was lovely, located in "Greek town". The food we ate was amazing. And Kaury and Nathan's wedding was all that I hoped it would be (minus the dogs...their absence ended up on a list of "way to make the wedding less stressful"). It will take me at least a week to sort through all the pictures we took. Kaury rented a "party bus" for the wedding party to shoot around town. Fabulous idea for getting great bridal party shots (and having fun too). Needless to say, I took A LOT of pictures and I love so many. But for now, here's a few teasers from the wedding, and some "art" shots Jordan and I grabbed while shooting around our Greek neighborhood for a bit.

And for those of you who've emailed me to take advantage of my art offer, I will be getting back to you sometime this week, if I haven't already. For those of you who'd like to get in on the redecorating fun, I must receive an email by tomorrow at midnight! My week's going to be busy, but fun, so I can't wait. Tonight I'm taking Jocilyn's (future sis-in-law) bridals, tomorrow is my birthday, and Friday we close on our house... so excited!

And a random FYI: If you're a future bride reading all this and would like to be one of MY future brides...please note that I'm almost booked for the summer, with only one September opening left. However, I do still have a few portrait openings, so don't hesitate to call if you're wanting pictures for anything other than a wedding.
