in my daughter's eyes

Photobucket

We're headed out for the weekend, up to Lava Hot Springs tonight and then I have a shoot tomorrow evening we have to be back for. So lots of driving which means Ella and I are off to the library to get a book. Jordan and I read to each other on long drives. We love it! But I wanted to post this picture today and the words to the song that inspired it (or at least how it's edited that is). I heard this song on the radio the other day (it wasn't the first time, but it caught my attention) and it made me tear up. And I figured since it's already an Ella post weekend, I'd share it. The song is "In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride.

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

And just for fun, here's the SOC/edited comparison of this picture. I don't usually photoshop my images this much, but today I was just messing around. This image is just a snapshot of Ella hanging on my leg. It's the view in which I most often get to see her big eyes.
